Volunteer with the JC

A young professional organization with one goal in mind: end Alzheimer's.

Come out and help brighten the day of these residents, while also learning about this terrible disease.  Currently, we volunteer twice a month, plus additional special events and opportunities as they become available.  All are welcome, and you are not required to sign up for our normal monthly volunteering events.

Memory care residents enjoy meeting members of the Junior Committee and sharing common interests, games, or crafts. Sharing a smile, chat, or laugh can truly make a difference in their quality of life.

By spending time with residents, JC members learn more about Alzheimer’s Disease and to understand the needs of this community.

First Wednesday of each month, 6pm – 7:30pm at First Community Village

Enter from Waltham Road, then go around the loop headed for the area of the building where the pin is placed in the map above. It is a big place, and many of the spots are labeled “visitor” so look for those. You will enter the building at the door labeled “The Burkhart”.

BESA participates too, so you can meet other young professionals that volunteer. If you would like a volunteer buddy, this could be the right volunteering spot for you!

Fourth Monday of each month, 6pm – 7:30pm at Glenwood Alzheimer’s Special Care Center

Glenwood is a larger facility, so it’s easy to walk around here and mingle with residents in a variety of different rooms. Riley the therapy dog, who is sure to make everyone smile, usually joins us.

Special Occasions at Worthington Christian Village
